It’s
October!
Finally!
I love October. We get a bunch of pumpkin spice crap and in thirty days we all
get diabetes! Yay! I love October because we at the end of the month we get to
play pretend and dress up. I haven’t played dress up since I played ‘house’
last year, but we actually called it undress up (no explanation necessary). I
have decided what I’m going to dress up for Halloween: Jenna Jameson. For those
too young to know who she is – look her up! And if you’re too young, you
shouldn’t be reading my blog. LOL! Nah, what am going as will be kept a secret
until closer to the time. However, I will be posting clues in the blog until
the big day. Let’s start with the first clue.
*Clue 1: It’s from a TV
Show*
That
is the easiest clue you will get. I encourage people to guess what my costume
will be and if you guess right, you know what you will win? Absolutely nothing.
Just the satisfaction of knowning you guessed right on Justin’s blog. Anyway, I
do love the spirit of Halloween. I love the pumpkins and the ghosts and especially
the haunted houses.
I
love to go through a haunted house. Ever since I was a young child I’ve loved
everything haunted: real and fiction and I love to scare people. I use to scare
my grandmother all the time when I would go over to her house. My favorite
scare that I’ve done was one time I was staying over my biological dad’s house
and me, and his girlfriend, and her friend Bobbie liked to do night walks
around their mobile home park. I rode on my scooter (remember those?) and I
decided to sneak behind a bush and job out at them as they walked boy and I
have never heard someone scream so loud as she did. It was amazing. I know! I'm bad!
Bloody,
Bloody, Teeth
I
have to get my wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow. Oh, joy! I love pain and I love
blood so much. If I admitted to that I would be lying to you. I am sitting here
thinking about all this blood gushing out of my mouth as they remove four
wisdom teeth and an additional tooth as well that grew rotten and started to
cause a nasty infection inside my mouth. Too bad I don’t have the money to pay
for a single tooth implant. I would do that. I am terrified of having my teeth
worked out and I hate the dentist.
That
being said maybe when I go in for the operation, I will film it and put it
online for you guys to see the gushing blood and my teeth come out. It’ll be a
fun, yet painful experience to watch.

-Evil Dead the musical is funny, but
doesn’t beat the films.
*Carrie
(remake)
-The book was scary in itself
-Julianne Moore, need a say more (no
pun intended)
-Carrie! The Musical is amazing
also.

Not
Practically Perfect (In No Way)
Suggested
by Joanne Bolinger
Why
must we remake classic films? Especially films where the original author of the
material didn’t like the film in the first place. Mary Poppins was originally a novel by P. L. Travers featuring a
magical nanny and their adventures with the Banks children. Walt Disney wanted
to make a film based on a book his kids could enjoy and they were in love with Mary Poppins. When Disney flew Travers
from England out to LA, she immediately hated the place and she reluctantly sold
the film rights to Disney. Although, she wanted to be a part of the film
process and was until Disney became fed up with her nitpicking ever little
detail and was kicked out of the studios.
In
2004, shortly before Ms. Travers passed away, they wanted to make a Broadway
adaptation of the film and she again reluctantly signed to do it making it
clear none of the film cast and crew can be involved with the stage show.
Now
ten years after she passes away we decided ‘let’s make another film that she wouldn’t
want us to make.’ There has been a poster going around with Tim Burton’s name
attached and I was scared to death. Luckily, he’s not involved. I just don’t
understand why the company of Disney/Travelers family would be so disrespectful
to the fact she would not want another film made of her babies. Oh, wait! It
comes down to one thing: money! I am a writer and I would hate someone to go against
my wishes including friends and family. The original film is a classic, yes,
but still Travers was unhappy and it shouldn’t be done no matter how much money
is involved. It’s a disrespect to her legacy.
FINAL
THOUGHT: “Don’t sleep in haunted places, watch scary movies, while dreaming of
bloody teeth, while you could be watching a bad remake of a classic.”
HAPPY
OCTOBER!
Be Open Minded!
